Reggie Rockstone, the originator of the Hiplife music genre, has been unveiled as the brand ambassador for Stone Depot, a company that specializes in natural stone fabrications. The announcement was made at a colourful event hosted by Natalia Andoh, which brought together a host of individuals in the building and construction industry.
Established in 2016, Stone Depot produces premium quality products from slabs procured around the world. The company has built a strong reputation for itself in the industry, and this partnership with Reggie Rockstone is expected to elevate the company to greater heights.
The event, which took place on Friday, April 1, 2023, was a memorable one. Guests were treated to good music, drinks, food, and a short documentary on Stone Depot. Upon the arrival of the Hiplife Grandpa, the atmosphere was charged with excitement. Clad in all-white attire, Reggie Rockstone was in high spirits as he recounted the unlikely situation which led to him landing the ambassadorial deal with Stone Depot; a car crash involving his wife and a driver of Stone Depot.
Speaking at the event, Elias G. Hage, the CEO of Stone Depot, expressed optimism about the partnership with Reggie Rockstone. He believes that the Hiplife pioneer will help elevate the company to greater heights.
The unveiling of the legendary Hiplife artiste was followed by a raffle, where winners took home a variety of awards including gift/shopping vouchers, flower vases, and a marble table.
Reggie Rockstone, born in the United Kingdom but lived his early years in Kumasi and Accra, has been living in Ghana. He has played an important role in the development of the Hiplife art and has pioneered this uniquely African genre in Ghana. He raps in Akan, precisely Asante Twi and English, and has won several awards over the years, including the Kora Award for the best African video in 2004.
